The Jolly Jellyfish jumped their way into the fourth week of camp. On Monday the rain couldn’t stop Group 6 from having fun. We had a blast watching the Emperor’s New Groove. On Tuesday we practiced our new basketball skills then we helped out the garden by picking out the weeds to let the other plants grow. Wednesday was Yomi Bear’s birthday so we had a dance party at the shelter. Then we went to the hotel to dance with the whole camp! Wednesday came to an end with an epic reading of “Wacky Wednesday” by Dr. Seuss. On Thursday we took pictures of each other, nature, and ourselves. Then we tried to balance feathers on our palms at circus arts. We finished Thursday by practicing our Yomi idol dance and getting ready for next week! Friday was Israel Day. We sang songs and danced at Shabbat, we had humus and Israeli salad for lunch and then had a blast with our whole unit doing the Israeli activities. We already can’t wait to see you next week!
Have you ever wondered what it is like to ride a bus to camp? You should ask one of the buses that recently won bus of the week. Bus of the week can be earned for many different reasons, some of which include: being spirited, being organized, having fun, being friendly, and inclusive. Our “spies” ride the buses each week looking out for all of these different things. On Fridays at dismissal it is tradition that Yomi Bear appears at camp and helps announce the bus of the week winners. If your camper’s bus wins Bus of the Week, make sure to congratulate them – it’s a big deal in our world!
