Week 2 Blog – Group 27

Week three was a big for the Liberty Ballers as it was our first full week of camp! Group 27 gained some new campers and we all got along great! We showcased our acting skills in improv alongside campers from Camp Tova. We designed our own castles in arts & crafts, showed our world cup worthy skills in soccer, competed in an obstacle course for pop fit kids, and found our chi in yoga. Tuesday’s parent night saw The Liberty Ballers taking on parents in an exciting game of basketball. Storybook characters were brought to life for our first Wacky Wednesday.  The Liberty Ballers joined the rest of Unit 3 in the amphitheater to compete against other groups in a game show featuring trivia, games of Simon says, and tug-of-war. Afterward, the Liberty Ballers helped Little Red Riding Hood make her way through an obstacle course and home to grandma’s house. Swim time was a splash as campers continued to hone their swimming skills. The Liberty Ballers continued to explore their Yomi-lectives this week, which include pioneering, ceramics, robotics, horseback riding and more! Our first full week of camp was a blast and next week will be even better with our very first overnight! We hope that you have a great weekend and we can’t wait to tell you all about another memorable week of camp for the Liberty Ballers!

Our beautiful campgrounds have over 50 acres of grass, courts, and fields to play on. With over 12 active activities, our campers are sure to get in the game! Our sports activities are coached by professional sports organizations and instructors such as; The Baseball Center, Tennis Innovators, and Super Soccer Stars.

This week, Fly Yoga instructors coached campers on how to create stories using only body movements. Campers dribbled down the court at basketball, learning special reasoning on the court.

Unit 3 and 4 campers have the option of joining the weekly Sports Club activity for even more sports in their schedule. During Sports Club, campers enhance their skills, receive extra practice time and specialized instruction.

Counselor of the Week

Every week we choose an extraordinary staff member(s) from each unit who exemplifies all five of our camps’ core values. We look for someone who is compassionate, mindful, courageous, a leader, and most importantly an overall mensch! These individuals go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure smiling, laughter, and safe summer fun! These handful of super counselors get the esteemed honor of being Counselor of the Week.
