Week 2 Blog – Group 25

The Happy Hot Dogs had a fantastic first full week of camp! There was much swimming and crazy fun activities under the hot summer sun. We did gymnastics, coding, Zumba, arts & crafts, pioneering, jewelry, basketball, and more! On Tuesday we put on our big smiley faces for picture day and had a blast at parent night. It was so great meeting many of the parents and decorating cookies at cooking. Wednesday surely was wacky! Group 25 disappeared and became an amazing squad of different storybook characters! We also answered the wacky Wednesday question correctly and won a prize! We ended our terrific week once again with a musical Shabbat and said goodbye for the weekend. We can’t wait for another incredible week at Camp Yomi!

Our beautiful campgrounds have over 50 acres of grass, courts, and fields to play on. With over 12 active activities, our campers are sure to get in the game! Our sports activities are coached by professional sports organizations and instructors such as; The Baseball Center, Tennis Innovators, and Super Soccer Stars.

This week, Fly Yoga instructors coached campers on how to create stories using only body movements. Campers dribbled down the court at basketball, learning special reasoning on the court.

Unit 3 and 4 campers have the option of joining the weekly Sports Club activity for even more sports in their schedule. During Sports Club, campers enhance their skills, receive extra practice time and specialized instruction.

Counselor of the Week

Every week we choose an extraordinary staff member(s) from each unit who exemplifies all five of our camps’ core values. We look for someone who is compassionate, mindful, courageous, a leader, and most importantly an overall mensch! These individuals go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure smiling, laughter, and safe summer fun! These handful of super counselors get the esteemed honor of being Counselor of the Week.
