Week 2 Blog – Group 7

The Golden Guppies stormed into this second week of camp with a bang! We entered this week hitting home runs out of the park in baseball, and learned about the plants and trees around us. Tuesday we came back energized for a full and exciting day at camp with one of our favorite actives which is soccer than we cheered our way over to gaga where we played competitive but fun matches like campers vs counselors and campers vs campers. Wednesday was of course our amazing Wacky Wednesday, the theme was Storybook Character day. Many campers came dressed as superheroes and athletes. We started our first activity with a entertainer who quizzed us on our knowledge of math, science, and history; then we made dragon masks and hand puppets. We closed the day making delicious cookie dough with chocolate chips! Thursday the Golden Guppies took on the day molding our mini elephants in ceramics and practicing our serves in tennis. We also had such an amazing time taking pictures in photography. With Friday speeding in we danced and sang our way into shabbat and we closed the week with an amazingly fun free swim. Week two is officially over as we head into our weekend excited for the next week of camp. Enjoy your weekend and rest up for next week!

Our beautiful campgrounds have over 50 acres of grass, courts, and fields to play on. With over 12 active activities, our campers are sure to get in the game! Our sports activities are coached by professional sports organizations and instructors such as; The Baseball Center, Tennis Innovators, and Super Soccer Stars.

This week, Fly Yoga instructors coached campers on how to create stories using only body movements. Campers dribbled down the court at basketball, learning special reasoning on the court.

Unit 3 and 4 campers have the option of joining the weekly Sports Club activity for even more sports in their schedule. During Sports Club, campers enhance their skills, receive extra practice time and specialized instruction.

 Counselor of the Week

Every week we choose an extraordinary staff member(s) from each unit who exemplifies all five of our camps’ core values. We look for someone who is compassionate, mindful, courageous, a leader, and most importantly an overall mensch! These individuals go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure smiling, laughter, and safe summer fun! These handful of super counselors get the esteemed honor of being Counselor of the Week.
