Hello Camp Families,
I am extremely excited to return as the director of special needs camp programs. This is not just another job for me, it is how I spend my summers. For over fifteen years, I have been privileged to be part of the administrative team of camp programs at the 92nd Street Y. During the academic year, you will find me happily teaching at the Montclare Children’s School.
At camp Tova/Bari Tov we aim to encourage and support campers to make friends, learn valuable life skills and discover new interests in a safe and nurturing environment.
Some new things to note for this summer! We will be having two 92Y days where campers will get to explore all that 92Y has to offer, including time in our Olympic-sized swimming pool, private instruction from our May Center activity coaches, and more! We are excited to be adding new sensory stations at both camps and improving our daily picky-eater-option as part of our lunch program – campers have the option of yogurt, hard-boiled eggs or whole grain bread with jam, soy-nut butter, cream cheese, or butter.
Please remember to update and complete the medical forms for your camper by May 15th to ensure campers are ready for the summer. I will be periodically posting on the Parent Portal throughout the spring, so please check back for updates and additional information. Should you have a specific question or wish to contact me, I can be reached at tova@92Y.org and baritov@92Y.org.
We will be having a parent night at 92Y which will give you an opportunity to meet your camper’s counselor(s). If your camper is in Camp Tova it will be on Tuesday, June 19th at 5:00 PM in the Warburg room at 92Y. If your camper is in Camp Bari Tov it will be on Friday, June 22nd at 5:00 in the Warburg room at 92Y.
I look forward to making the summer of 2018 the very best experience for our campers and families as we continue in the 92nd Street Y Camp programs tradition of summer fun!
