The second to last week of camp was a blast for the Silly Sightseers. The campers enjoyed every moment of this week. With a lot of counselors and campers leaving this week everyone made a couple of new memories to cherish and take along with them till next summer. Group 12 had an amazing time in gymnastics where they completed and obstacle course. Also in Zumba where they jammed out to wonderful music and did there silliest dance moves. In arts and crafts, the campers made their coolest robots. Photography turned out to be a sweet moment where campers printed out pictures from a previous photography class, and most campers went home with a group picture. Lacrosse and frisbee were fantastic, campers enjoyed their time and made many new games with the sport. Wednesday was the second carnival for Unit 2, and campers had a blast. The campers even dressed up in the cutest safari animals and they roamed all over camp. And, Thursday being a late night, the campers enjoyed an extra free swim where they were able to cool off and also participate in unit games. This week being extremely hot the campers had a chance to cool off in the pool at the end of the day. Group 12 enjoyed their week of camp and the campers are excited to see what the last week of camp has in store for them.

Group 18 Blog, Week 6

As we near the end of camp group 18 just gets more and more energized and excited! We started off the week with outdoor ceramics and baseball. Everyone focused very well and made beautiful ceramic snails, some people even made monster snails and got very creative. Despite the heat, everyone tried their hardest and worked as a team in volleyball! This wacky Wednesday we had carnival again, a camp favorite! Everyone enjoyed eating cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones, as well as playing many different activities at different carnival booths. On Thursday we enjoyed our second and final late night! We munched on hotdogs and played many activities as a unit. We finally had boating after a whole summer of waiting!! We had so much fun and all split up the work to make sure we could paddle. It was another amazing week for group 18 and it is so sad that next week is our last!

Group 19 Blog, Week 6

The World Wanderers (Group 19) have completed another adventure-filled week! We began with activities like nature, photography, and gardening. In nature we walked around our beautiful camp as explorers and discovered new plants. We printed out our fantastic family photos in photography. We then head off to gardening where everyone made a unique collage out of leaves and pine cones! Our terrific Tuesday started with arts and crafts where the whole group used their imaginations to make a magnificent masterpiece out of tissue paper. We later moved on to basketball where every camper was an NBA star in multiple games of poison. At late night we had an extra enjoyable swim as well as activities that took us to places like Mexico, the Bahamas, and Canada. The impressive Group 19 even took home a huge win at a Bahamas themed relay race by being faster than all the jets and working wonderfully as a team! On Wacky Wednesday we flew to the land of fun with Carnival. We ate superb snacks, got glamorous glitter tattoos, and fabulous face paint! We also had some unit activities that really made us feel like we were in the safari like making hippo masks and playing life sized Hungry, Hungry Hippos! Later on we had Frisbee and all the campers ran faster than any safari animal around the field. On Thursday the group split up and flew to various activities of their choice around the world of Unit 2! We later joined up for Zumba and danced our hearts out to super silly songs like “Pancake Robot” and “It’s Raining Tacos”. After lunch our survivalist sides shined in pioneering when hunting for things we would need to survive outdoors. The week ended as strong as it started. We began our Fantastical Friday with Tennis. All of us perfected our swings and every single person impressively hit the ball over the net with no hesitation. We then zoomed to archery and there was absolutely no shortage of bullseyes from the group. Our Final destination was cooking. There we made smoothies that incorporated tasty flavors from every tropical country! We wish everyone a great weekend and we can’t wait to see what next week has in store for us all! See you all soon for our next adventure!

Group 13 Blog, Week 6

As the summer is fastly approaching the end, the Jazzy Jetsetters still maintained to make the best of their last days. As we jumped into this week, we landed right into improv where the campers showed their great listening skills. As we worked as a team, our great listening skills were demonstrated through a game where we had to clap when the specialist said “STOMP” and/or when he said “STOP” we had continue walking. It was hard, but each camper managed to ace the task. Group 13 then slid into zip-line where we all showed great excitement and participation. Each and every camper showed their courageous character by climbing the ropes to reach the top. The Jazzy Jetsetters are always full of joy when it comes to being at camp each and everyday. While being at Jewish Culture, group 13 were able to gather their thoughts and use it to tell some of their wonderful wishes that they came up with. Not only did they tell their wishes, but they learned about the how shabbat came to be and what time the candles should be lit. Nevertheless, the spirit of group 13 never dies, yet instead remains the high and proud. Our skills came out while playing soccer as each camper wanted to make a goal. The Jazzy Jetsetters not only showed their excitement at their activities, but also at Wacky Wednesday where we had a blast. While we enjoyed our safari theme, activities, we also enjoyed our different snacks that were presented to us. In fact, we won a game while attending carnival and had a lot of fun. As the week gradually comes to an end, group 13 cooled off in the pool everyday, while they enjoyed each others presence and the beach ball games that took place. Furthermore, all campers love showing their swimming skills off to one another, especially because of them moving up to different levels. (WOOHOO!) I can’t wait to see all of you next week for the last week of camp!

Group 17 Blog, Week 6

The Courageous Cruisers blasted into the sixth week of camp with more smiles and excitement than any other group in camp! The amazing week began with the group totally obliterating their fears and all going super high up on the flying squirrel! After that, it seemed like nothing could beat that, but we were wrong. On Tuesday, the favorite activity had to be soccer, where the campers went against the counselors in a game… and won! The unbelievable teamwork of the campers was too much for the counselors to take! On Wacky Wednesday, the theme was Yomi Bear’s safari adventure and all of the counselors dressed up as lions and the kids dressed up as well and looked like they were actually on a safari! There were intense games of Hungry-Hungry Hippos and a bounce house which was fun to bounce in and roll around in. The campers had fun at the end of carnival by getting face-paint, and participating in booths and won tons of tickets! That was a Wednesday that the group, campers, and counselors won’t soon forget! The week ended with the group having a blast at Frisbee, and even got to learn how to throw the frisbees really far! At the end of this amazing week, it is clear that it won’t be forgotten. Although some counselors are leaving the group, we can only wonder what the next and final week at camp will bring. Have an amazing weekend from Group 17!

We stretched our hamstrings and became animals and objects like dogs, cats and even trees. On Wednesday it was Yomi Bear’s Birthday but because of the rain, our normal planned activities were cancelled. “Oh no! The day’s ruined!” we thought, but Yomi Bear had a huge party with all of camp at a hotel! We danced, sang along to the lastest hit songs, and played games with the entire camp yomi family. On Thursday we enjoyed playing lacrosse and learned how to shoot properly! Friday was Israeli Day and we played many games including a dunk tank with counselors thanks to the help of all the staff members from Israel. The Courageous Cruisers had a magnificent time and can’t wait for next week!

Have you ever wondered what it is like to ride a bus to camp? You should ask one of the buses that recently won bus of the week. Bus of the week can be earned for many different reasons, some of which include: being spirited, being organized, having fun, being friendly, and inclusive. Our “spies” ride the buses each week looking out for all of these different things. On Fridays at dismissal it is tradition that Yomi Bear appears at camp and helps announce the bus of the week winners. If your camper’s bus wins Bus of the Week, make sure to congratulate them – it’s a big deal in our world!

Group 13 Blog, Week 4

The jazzy jetsetters jumped into week 4 with a bang. On Monday our group didn’t let the rain get in our way of the fun. We took a field trip to the movies and saw Coosco go on his amazing journey in the Emperors New Groove. On Tuesday the group had all sorts of fun at volleyball, got to hone our inner artistic skills at painting and drawing and became NBA all – stars at basketball. The rain also tried to ruin Wacky Wednesday but of course nothing could stop group 13. We got to make our very own bow ties and ties and took fun pictures with our new clothes. We then hopped on the buses for a field trip to our very own dance party! Thursday was a very productive day on our way to securing a yomi idol victory next week! We started practicing our very special dance to the Drake and Josh theme song “found a way”; we also got to do our hobby hour which is our time to choose our favorite activities. Shabbat was a great way to end the week. We sang songs and drank grapefruit juice. We even got to participate in Israeli day which is our time to learn about Israeli culture. Till next week group 13. Stay jazzy.

Group 18 Blog, Week 4

The frequent flyers had another eventful week! As disappointing as it is to have it rain at camp, every single camper was a trooper and made it one of the best weeks of all. On Monday we were able to chill out and watch the Emperors New Groove to escape the rain and were still even able to swim in the afternoon. On Wacky Wednesday, we all celebrated Yomi Bear’s birthday. All the campers danced their hearts out with the Wacky Wednesday entertainer and sat back and enjoyed a story read by one of the camp admin. On Thursday the sun finally came out again and we were able to enjoy a regular day at camp. All the kids had fun at their individual hobby hours and we were able to go to lego robotics (a group 18 favorite). All the kids focused very well and made beautiful mosaics in arts and crafts. This was an amazing week and it is all thanks to the amazing kids of group 18!

Despite all the rain, group 14 had an extraordinary week! On Monday we headed over to the hotel to watch The Emperors New Grove.  We all sat and watched in anticipation waiting to see what would happen to Cusco next! On Tuesday we were overjoyed to see sunny skies — especially for our late night! We started our day at nature, where we got to see a real robins’ egg and played with worms! Next we headed to kickball and then soccer! After that we had time to chill out at photography where we decorated frames for future photographs we would take home. Since it was late night, we had swim 3 periods in a row! After our third swim, we played lots of fun games; during the scavenger hunt we got stamps from different countries for our passports after we found a clue! Wednesday, Yomi Bears birthday, was a total blast! Again, the rain couldn’t ruin our day, so we headed to the hotel. We even listed to music and danced in our seats on the way! When we arrived, the party was just getting started. Units K, 1, and 2 all danced and sang together with a live entertainer! On Thursday, we made beautiful bracelets, necklaces, and keychains! Then we had our very first Yomi Idol practice! We learned and practiced our skills at tennis- loudly cheering each other on! Group 14 agreed, Friday came way too fast this week! We got invited to his birthday party, so we had to get ready! We spent our morning dressing up, until it was time! We went to his party at the hotel and had loads of fun! On Thursday, we started our day off with so intense lacrosse! After that, we all broke off into to our hobby hour! When we met back up, we headed over to the great garden and got digging! All that gardening made us hot, so we headed to the lovely pool and took a dip! On Friday, frisbee was the first fun activity! We flung flying frisbees across the meadow and then headed to our Yomi Idol rehearsal! That was a blast! After we practiced, we celebrated Israel Day at camp! Then we sung some fun songs at shabbat! We so look forward to what next week brings!

Group 19 Blog, Week 4

Despite the wacky weather over the past week, the World Wanderers joyfully jumped into all that Camp Yomi had in store. We started our week off right with the hilarious movie, Emperors New Groove. The excitement did not stop there, however, as we flew into our fantastic late night. We served in tennis and played catch in lacrosse. Following our terrific triple swim periods, we participated in so many creative late night activities. We traveled around the world to India, Australia & Egypt in just one day! We created Rangoli artwork in India, played kangaroo potato sack races in Australia and ran relay races past mummies in Egypt. Our late night ended with a massive Unit 2 dinner, where we shared lots of hugs and laughter. On Yomi Bears Birthday (Wacky Wednesday) we created playful photo booth props, dressed our counselors into lovely presents and strutted our stuff down the party runway. Our week ended with many more eventful activities such as Ceramics, where we made silly sharks and in Cooking where we made scrumptious chocolate covered pretzels. Before we knew it, our camp week came to an end. (Time flies when you’re having fun). We can’t wait for the next!

Group 15 Blog, Week 4

This week the Valiant Voyagers traveled near and far. We had a lot of rain but that didn’t stop us from having lots of fun. We started our week by watching an amazing movie, The Emperor’s New Groove. We laughed at the funny scenes and we were fascinated by the mysterious ones! On Tuesday we had a day filled with adventure from baseball to coding, and from Minecraft to running around in Pop Fit Kids. We also can’t forget our amazing late night where we played games like scavenger hunt, and another where we tried to dodge counselor mummies! Our wacky Wednesday was still wacky, even in the rain. We had an Awesome dance party with MC Mel and DJ Frank! We jumped and danced with our counselors, it was a great time. Then we finished our wacky Wednesday by reading a great book by Dr. Seuss, named wacky Wednesday. We ended our week by taking some cool photos at photography, dancing away at Zumba, and shooting our amazing baskets at basketball. Group 15 is so ready to have fun next week and for the rest of this awesome summer!

Group 20 Blog, Week 4

This week’s gloomy weather didn’t stop group 20 from having a blast at camp! We kicked off the start of the week by watching a magical movie together, and leaving some time at the end of the day to squeeze in a quick refreshing swim! We also got to enjoy some fun activities as we danced our hearts out at Zumba and discovered cool new creatures at nature! As late night came along, we all got to work together as a team, flying through some kangaroo races, scavenger hunts, and other marvelous mini games. The night ended as we had a relaxing dinner on the field, enjoying our super yummy burgers and hot dogs! The next day, we got to be the spectacular stars of this week’s wacky Wednesday video! (We’re celebrities). For wacky Wednesday, we were all pumped to join Yomi Bear for his big birthday bash. We enjoyed many activities together like strutting our stuff down the runway, making goofy faces in the photo booth, and wrapping a huge, life-size present (literally!) for the birthday bear himself! Finally, we got to end the week by making some snuggly snowmen at ceramics, and getting our energy back during a much-needed period of gymnastics. We hope everyone had a wonderful week full of smiles and giggles and, as always, we can’t wait for the next one!

Group 12 Blog, Week 4

Despite all that rain, the Silly Sightseers had a blast this week! Marvelous Monday started with extremely exciting shelter games. To stay warm and comfortable indoors, we had the chance to go to a hotel and watch a fun film. Everyone was on the edge of their seats, and besides, rainy days are the best to watch movies, right? Terrific Tuesday rolled around and The Silly Sightseers were energy filled. We participated in amazing activities all day. Starting with frisbee, the campers got to show off how far they can launch the frisbees. It was a relaxing way to start the cool morning. We then went over to ceramics where campers explored their creative sides and used their artistic minds to create frogs! Later, soccer was a great way to release some energy. Wacky Wednesday came around to celebrate Yomi Bears birthday! Everyone showed up in their best party outfits and dance dance danced. Thursday was a fun-filled day that consisted of hobby hour and we got our first chance to practice for Yomi Idol! We also showed off our flexibility in gymnastics. This week the Silly Sightseers were faced with rain, but nothing will ever stop us from having an amazing time at Camp Yomi!

Group 19 Blog, Week 3

The extraordinary explorer explored camp this week starting with fantastic flying squirrel. We then flew to lacrosse and went through some drills and played a few games. Later we sailed to cooking where we made ice cream. We then scrambled over to tennis where we worked on our serves. We had our carnival day where the extraordinary explorers played in a bouncy house and played an array of games. We then bounced over to soccer where we worked on our dribbling and shooting skills. After soccer we swam on over to swim where we played a game of sharks and minnows. Then the extraordinary explorers finished out the week with an amazing Shabbat where we all shared challa and grape juice. We can’t wait for next week to begin!

Group 21 Blog, Week 3

The Terrific Travelers soared into week 3 of camp with a competitive early morning Lacrosse outing! The girls teamed up to edge the boys out of the win in an early relay to ten goals. Later in the week the kids raced to snatch up weeds in Gardening and barreled through baseball batting up a storm. Wacky Wednesday was wonderfully wacky as group 21 went crazy for the carnival. Bouncing in the bouncy house, munching on popcorn and cotton candy, and punching in prizes in the game booths, they had a blast. Thursday morning Group 21 revealed their
artistic side with perfect portrayals of whacky Giraffes in painting and drawing. Lastly, campers enjoyed their choice of their favorite activity in hobby hour and made great strides in seriously improving their swimming skills. The Terrific Travelers are eager to rush into upcoming adventures in their fourth week of camp!

Group 20 Blog, Week 3

The Greatest Globetrotters (Group 20) had a tremendous time at tennis while teetering their tennis balls on tottering rackets. Some stylish moves were shown on the soccer field as Messi incarnates ferociously fired their soccer balls into the goals. The Greatest Globetrotters gobbled up some good grub such as pancakes, turkey burgers, and tasty tatter tots swim was swamped with splishing and splashing but we had a day of swinging by the sprinklers swiftly. Lots of fun took place with lollipop — I mean lacrosse lances and some kids were pumped for pop fit. Some smiles were made as we broke the seriousness and silence at circus arts. All of the children were going to be doctors, but they ran out of patience. (Ha-ha). We jumped in gymnastics and did some funny antics and shenanigans while having a jolly ol’ time. Camp Carnival created lots of exciting rides and we popped lots of popcorn into our bellies. We beat the heat by slurping our snowcones and boyoyoinged in the bouncy house. We can’t wait for week 4!

Group 13 Blog, Week 3

On Monday the Jazzy Jetsetters of group 13 had an amazing time during kickball; the ball went flying everywhere and later, during baseball, everyone got some serious hits in. It feels as though the future athletes of America are right in front of us. On Wednesday group 13 probably had the most fun out of the entire summer so far, and grew even closer together having fun getting glitter tattoos, jumping all around in the bouncy house, and pushing their skills in the game booths. Now that’s what we call a Wacky Wednesday. Thursday was the day all of group 13 was waiting for. Because Thursday was when they finally got to do flying squirrels and zip line; risks were taken, fears were conquered, and it became a day they’d never forget. What a week for the Jazzy Jetsetters!

Group 16 Blog, Week 3

The Group 16 Superstar Sailors knocked week 4 out of the park starting with some Herculean hits at baseball. Next we painted our particularly playful giraffe portraits at painting and drawing. After that we made our way over to the unit 1 field to indulge in some snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy during the Wacky Wednesday carnival! We then ran tough and tight training in tennis and cooled off in the pool afterward. We ended the week off with a Shabbat sing-along and we can’t wait to see what kind of silly shenanigans are in store for the Superstar Sailors next week!

Group 12 Blog, Week 3

The Silly Sightseers have had an amazing and adventurous week so far in Unit 2! Starting on Monday, the campers learned the basics of Lacrosse and had a great time playing catch with eachother! It was so exciting to see the kids learn a new sport and be engaged with each other. After lacrosse the campers played a sport that many people are familiar with at Yomi; Gaga! They all had a fantastic time playing Gaga in a competitive but super fun and supportive environment! After Gaga was zip line time! Everyone in group 12 was so supportive and respectful of each other during zipline. Every camper got a chance to soar through the sky and experience the thrilling fun of zip line! After zipline the kids got the chance to play bongos, tambourines, and maracas with Nelson and sing along to songs like Stand By Me, the Shabbat song, and more! To end their day, the Silly Sightseers took very professional looking photos of nature and of each other outside and got to print them and put them in their own frames. Before we knew it, it was Wacky Wednesday, one of the most exciting days for all campers! This Wacky Wednesday was Carnival! Group 12 got to go in big bouncy houses and slides. Then, everyone got to eat some sweets and snacks! Group 12 got to eat snow cones with their own individual colors, as well as some tasty popcorn and cotton candy! After the amazing treats, the campers got to visit many different booths full of games and tricks. There was also face painting and colorful tattoos for the campers. Carnival was such an amazing experience for every camper at Yomi and especially the Silly Sightseers. Later, they all got to eat their tasty treats! To round off the day the Silly Sightseers learned about the Kiddush Cup in Jewish Culture! They learned that the Kiddish cup is filled with sweet grape juice and then they got to make beautiful drawings of anything they thought was sweet and tasty like the grape juice. This has been an especially amazing week for the Silly Sightseers and there is definitely more in store for this wonderful group!

Group 15 Blog, Week 3

The Valiant Voyagers hailing from Unit 2, group 15, jumped started the week 3 off with a combination of the arts and sports. Circus arts kept us laughing throughout the whole day, even during the downtime of basketball. Tuesday was filled with the arts, nature, and sports. We voyaged the camp grounds to capture sneaky ants, then calmed down with some music and, to start the fun up again, danced at Zumba. This was followed by a low rope course which was a piece of cake for the valiant voyagers. Wednesday was just a blast of fun as the carnival was filled with laughter and excitement, which we had no problem transferring into a concentrated archery session. Shabbat was filled with good memories and fun times, the weekly camp awards were the highlight of the day. Hope to see all my valiant voyegers exploring the mysteries that await us in week 4

Group 19, Week 3

The World Wanderers, group 19, started week three in fantastic fashion, with some super scores in soccer and sublime swishes in basketball. Alongside all the running around, we learned a lot in Jewish culture and coding, such as the complex yet cool computers and the merits of being a leader and a mensch. On wacky Wednesday the World Wanderers truly took to the sky, flying around the bases in kickball before the highly anticipated Carnival!! We ate delicious delicacies from different regions of the world dressed in our Unit 2 green before bouncing to the sky in the bouncy house and sliding back down on the mega-slide. At the many different booths, the World Wanderers got fantastic face paint and knocked down block towers that were sky high! But the fun and excitement this week didn’t end there; the World Wanderers flew through the air on the field zipline, a highlight for campers and counselors alike. It truly was an eventful and fun third week here at Camp Yomi for the world Wanderers!! Have a great weekend, and we can’t wait to see what amazing experiences will present themselves to us next week!!!

Group 17, Week 3

The Courageous Cruisers had an amazing week at camp! We started off with one of our favorite activities, Boating. We also had Circus Arts where we learned how to balance items and even how to juggle! We also had filmmaking where we learned all about green screens, especially how make ourselves disappear by using them. In Music with Nelson we sang lots of songs from The Beatles, Moana, and High School Musical while playing the drums, triangle, and tambourine. This Wednesday was Carnival! The kids got to enjoy cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, bouncy houses, face paint, and lots of carnival games. On Friday we had shabbat. We ate the delicious challah and grape juice and danced to the shabbatons lovely singing. We also had the Flying Squirrel ropes course which was a real thrill. The Courageous Cruisers had a jam-packed week and are excited to see what next week brings.

Group 18 Blog, Week 3

Group 18 had some terrific activities for the 3rd week of camp. The campers not only had one of their favorite sports, soccer, but archery as well. They cheered each other on through all the activities like the big family they are. Not to mention, each camper had a taste of the wonderful food Camp Yomi has to offer. Wacky Wednesday’s theme was carnival, which meant fun and smiles and green everywhere there was to look (green is our unit’s color). The bouncy houses and the thrilling booths made each and every camper happier than ever. Tasty cotton candy and refreshing snow cones with a hint of popcorn really made their day. We all can’t wait to see what next week holds!

They were One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, and Blue Fish. We also won the caterpillar race against Groups 16 and 17. Our entire group was also in the trailer video for wacky Wednesday on the bus, just like the movie stars that we are! Week 2 was amazing, and we’re hoping for an even better week 3!

These individuals go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure smiling, laughter, and safe summer fun! These handful of super counselors get the esteemed honor of being Counselor of the Week.

Group 17 Blog, Week 2

This week the courageous cruisers, group-17, were just that: Courageous and cruising. We conquered fears at zipline, met Maui, and had many other novel experiences. Like on Tuesday, when we went boating for the first time, and had a blast racing. We also explored our minds by engaging in creativity activities such as ceramics, and arts and crafts. Another new experience was archery, where we not only learned how to wield a bow and arrow, but learned of the responsibility to safety wielding such an instrument requires. Then there was the usual stuff, but that didn’t mean it was any less fun! At basketball we did our best Michael Jordon impressions, and at swim, we had a blast playing Marco Polo with our counselors. Week 2 was amazing; we can’t wait to see what week 3 has in store.

The extraordinary explorers had an amazing week at camp! We started off the fun filled week with archery. The group showed off their super skills with all of the campers hitting the target! On Tuesday the group had a blast hitting home runs at baseball. The campers also became perfect programmers at coding! They gave coded instructions to a character of their choice in a minecraft coding game. This week was our first Wacky Wednesday of the summer: storybook character day! We started off the day at zumba where our campers displayed impressive dance moves. One of our super fun Wacky Wednesday activities was a Winnie the Pooh themed scavenger hunt. Our group got second place and learned the valuable lesson of “slow and steady wins the race.” Later in the day, many of our stunningly smart campers were aces during trivia. At boating on Thursday the campers had an amazing time having paddle boat races and singing the “rock the boat” cheer. We also had our second hobby hour of the summer this week. All the campers got to choose one of their favorite activities to do for one hour! Everyday the campers had a splashing time at the pool! This week we played many group games like sharks and minnows, stuck in the mud, and water sardines. We are so excited for camp next week! And hope everyone has a great weekend.

The Silly Sightseers continued week 2 with the same, huge amount of energy and spirit they had during week 1. Monday started off with a lot of rhythm in music. Group 12 then was able to practice their accuracy during archery. Circus Arts was funny as always, as jokes were made while the campers had the opportunity to play fun animal games. Basketball was a blast, where campers got a chance to improve their jump shot. Tuesday baseball was an all-around success; everyone got to show off their powerful swings. At gardening we got a chance to see just what grows in that garden. During Pop Fit Kids, all the campers participated in relay races, and got to show off how fast they could run. Wednesday was Storybook character day and all the campers came dressed up as their favorite character. They also partook in theme games and were certainly entertained by this week’s entertainer. Thursday, campers got a chance to enjoy their favorite activity during Hobby Hour. Campers’ soccer skills were on full display when they enjoyed a game of campers vs. counselors! As always the days ended with free and instructional swim, where campers were happy and playful! We very much look forward to the many camp days still yet to come.

Group 13 Blog, Week 2

Coming back from a fabulous weekend group 13 returned to embrace plenty of new faces. We landed right into a fierce, affectionate and energetic game of lacrosse where each camper learned different skills, but showed off their own. The jazzy jetsetters then continued with their high spirit and energy on the way to baseball. Group 13 shows the true definition of sportsmanship to one another, and cheered on both teams. Soon enough the new campers settled in and began to see that they were joining a group full of amazing returning campers in unit 2 and the yomi family. This Wednesday was, as always, a wacky one. And even though not all campers were dressed up, we all participated in the goofy activities. The counselors were also filled with a huge amount of spirit, support, and energy, which contributed to success in all games, but also at just making each camper have an amazing time. Later, during the day, group 13 had a blast as we all splashed in the pool and played with beach balls, playing games like marco polo, shark in the pool, and the dolphin races. The jazzy jetsetters then used their creativity in painting and drawing where they drew their own giraffe and then painted it. As the days go on I can say that group 13 is turning into a family rather than just a group. We can’t wait to see the other fun and amazing activities that Camp Yomi has to offer!

Our beautiful campgrounds have over 50 acres of grass, courts, and fields to play on. With over 12 active activities, our campers are sure to get in the game! Our sports activities are coached by professional sports organizations and instructors such as; The Baseball Center, Tennis Innovators, and Super Soccer Stars.

This week, Fly Yoga instructors coached campers on how to create stories using only body movements. Campers dribbled down the court at basketball, learning special reasoning on the court.

Unit 3 and 4 campers have the option of joining the weekly Sports Club activity for even more sports in their schedule. During Sports Club, campers enhance their skills, receive extra practice time and specialized instruction.

 Counselor of the Week

Every week we choose an extraordinary staff member(s) from each unit who exemplifies all five of our camps’ core values. We look for someone who is compassionate, mindful, courageous, a leader, and most importantly an overall mensch! These individuals go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure smiling, laughter, and safe summer fun! These handful of super counselors get the esteemed honor of being Counselor of the Week.

Group 15 Blog, Week 2

Group 15, the Valiant Voyagers, quickly started out week 2 by traveling around the camp having fun and enjoying the sun. Starting off the week, the voyagers explored Pop Fit Kids, which provided the children with various exercises and drills. Just after, they rolled their way through gymnastics, smiled for the camera on picture day, soared on the zipline, and closed out the day with swim. On Tuesday, group 15 energetically whacked yellow balls in tennis, relaxed in yoga, created cool and exciting videos in filmmaking, and even beat the counselors in a game of soccer. Wacky Wednesday came along and all the kids enjoyed creating characters with googly eyes, playing games, having a huge scavenger hunt, and participating in a wacky game show. Later that day, the kids played frisbee and then swam. The next day, they visited the vibrant garden, went to an activity of their choosing at hobby hour, and created delicious cookies and frosting in cooking. The Valiant Voyagers couldn’t have hoped for a better Week 2. And we can’t wait to say the same of week 3!

Group 20 Blog, Week 2

It was yet another fantastic week for Group 20! We had an amazing start on Monday at Outdoor Ceramics where we carved, scratched, and attached our heart’s out creating our perfect pinch-pot baskets; and that was only the beginning. We all embodied our best majestic robots at Zumba, played like pros at Baseball, and became brilliant environmentalists at Nature. On Tuesday we sprang into action at Soccer and had a World Cup of our own. But wait, who could forget the afternoon jam session with Nelson?! Our Group 20 chorus could out-class even the greatest of symphonies! By the time Wednesday came around, we could hardly contain our excitement; it was mouse ears, capes, and crowns galore as we dressed up as our favorite storybook characters for Wacky Wednesday! From relay races, to a Unit 2-wide Scavenger Hunt, to even a live Quiz Game show in the Amphitheater, our Wacky Wednesday was action packed from the get-go. As if our week couldn’t get any more exciting already, Thursday brought more fun than we ever could have imagined. At Lacrosse we learned how to master shooting–seriously, every single person made a goal! Then, we picked up our water bottles, put on our Group 20 smiles, and headed off to Hobby Hour. From activity to activity we consistently showed off our Group 20 abilities–truly cementing our legacy as the Greatest Globetrotters.

Group 19 Blog, Week 2

The World Wanderers, Group 19, began the week by flying in style to the flying squirrel. The group flew higher and faster than any plane in the sky! But the excitement did not stop there. Later we traveled to frisbee and volleyball, where the energy and participation was as high as the sky. In ceramics we made the most perfect and crazy pinch pot monsters you will ever see! On Wacky Wednesday the costumes took us to a diverse land of storybook characters. Group 19 took home the gold medal in the “Chair for My Mother” Coin Relay Race in both speed and spirit! This week came to an end with many activities like archery, where bullseyes were being shot left and right. We wish everyone a great weekend, and can’t wait for next week to see where else the World Wanderers will explore!

Group 21 Blog, Week 2

This week the terrific travelers of unit 2 flew through camp yomi on the fun filled flying squirrel and wowed each other with our amazing archery. Tuesday we scored in soccer, a game that rivaled the world cup in excitement. In cooking we baked and designed delectable cupcake treats. Wacky Wednesday was wild and wonderful with this week’s storybook theme; games like the hungry caterpillar and coin relay were crazy fun. Group 21 took home first place on the Camp Yomi scavenger hunt proving that we are the best of the best! Later, tricky trivia was no match for our wit, once again letting group 21 win the game. Thursday we clowned around at circus arts where we balanced peacock feathers on the tips of our fingers. Filmmaking was fantastic, we got to make a documentary about group 21 and every camper got to be a camera man! Friday went by like a whirlwind when we danced our hearts out at Zumba and saw a few homeruns at baseball. And we can’t wait to do it all again next week!

Group 18 Blog, Week 1B

Even though it was only 4 days, this was a packed and exciting week for group 18! On Monday we started off by going to the flying squirrel, a camp favorite. All the kids cheered each other on as everyone took a turn. We had a fun time at painting and drawing where everyone made self portraits that represented how they see themselves. After lunch on Monday, we were able to make 4th of July themed cookies in cooking, where the kids got to decorate the cookies themselves with sprinkles, melted chocolate, caramel and many more goodies. On Tuesday all the kids really engaged in coding and had a great time dancing their hearts out in zumba! Despite being a rainy day on Tuesday we were able to splash around and have a good time in the sprinklers. We are looking forward to more awesome memories with this great group of kids!

Group 21 Blog, Week 1B

The Terrific Travelers jumped into our super second week of camp. We started off the week with some brilliant base running at baseball. Then headed on over to ceramics where we made some spectacular swan bowls. The Terrific Travelers had a tantalizing time at tennis on Tuesday, showing the whole group their amazing forearm stance. We also made uber cool underground drawings at painting and drawing! We came back from our lovely Fourth of July break on Thursday and enjoyed filmmaking by making super silly clips for next week’s wacky Wednesday video. At LEGO robotics, the whole group was wowed after we programmed our robots to move around and talk! The Terrific Travelers closed the week off at Shabbat on Friday where we danced around with the unit and enjoyed delicious challa and grape juice.

Group 20 Blog, Week 1B

Group 20’s week was a home run, starting with baseball on Monday. We split up into teams and played a good, clean game while cheering on our friends. At lego robotics we teamed up to program a robot to move back and forth (might have some potential engineers in the future)! On Tuesday we had archery, which seems to be the favorite activity among the boys of the group. Later that day we all grabbed a video camera to show off what group 20 is really all about and video taped us being our ridiculous and goofy selves. There was no shortage of excitement on Thursday, either. We kicked off the day by making some spectacular Sahara Desert themed bracelets. Then we picked up our cameras, chef hats, and water bottles as we showed off our Group 20 skills all around camp during Hobby Hour—afterall, we’re called ‘The Greatest Globetrotters’ for a reason. After lunch we headed over to the tennis courts where we learned how to hit some fantastic forehands. As you can see, there was no shortage of fun and laughter this week from Group 20 and we look forward to another great week ahead!

Group 16 Blog, Week 1B

On Monday the Superstar Sailors made pinch pot turtles in Outdoor Ceramics and launched into a thrilling ride on the zipline. On Tuesday we exercised our musical talent in Music with Nelson, jamming out to variations of Pop Songs and numbers written by The Beatles. After our break for the Fourth of July, Group 16 practiced various circus skills including juggling, plate spinning, and ribbon dancing. This eventually led us to fill our appetite with the star-shaped cookies we decorated in Cooking. The Superstar Sailors ended the week honoring
the Shabbas and with an exciting, though friendly, game of Ga-Ga. We hope you all have an amazing weekend and we look forward to another fun-filled week at camp!

Group 12 Blog, Week 1B

The Silly Sightseers started off their second week of camp with many fun new activities. The campers worked together as a team and showed tremendous support to each other in every activity. They began magnificent Monday with the Flying Squirrel where they went super duper high into the air and cheered their way down. Later on in improv, the campers and counselors all worked together to have a silly and relaxed time. Lastly, they showed off their pro-like tennis skills. Terrific Tuesday was started in the glamorous garden where the campers learned fantastic facts about plants, and even got to water some as well. Next came yoga, where everyone got to relax and show off their marvelous yoga moves. Then in lacrosse and soccer, the campers learned all about the sport and played amongst themselves where they made some spectacular scores. The campers made some lovely jewelry for Fourth of July in jewelry making. Thrilling Thursday was a relaxed day for the campers where they showed some amazing Zumba moves and were able to participate in an activity of their choosing. Each day ended with a chance to cool off in the pool with sweet splashes. But of course to cool off from the humid heat throughout the day, the campers and counselors all played their favorite game, Mickey! This week the Silly Sightseers has a blast, and we’re looking forward to the weeks to come and what camp Yomi has in store for us next!

Group 14 Blog, Week 1B

Group 14 had a great time this week. We started off the week by having a zesty time zip lining. Even campers who were a little nervous, at first, ended up going with the help of their counselors running through the field by their side. We also had a dazzling time drawing self portraits and pictures of the world above and below. Group 14 then had a glorious time at gaga and gymnastics where the campers beat the counselors! Later in the week we had hobby hour where each camper chose a hobby that made them most happy hearted. Overall, group 14 had an utterly fantastic week.

Group 19 Blog, Week 1B

Despite the wacky weather over the past week, the World Wanderers (Group 19) dove into it with full force and smiles all over their faces shining brighter than the sun that failed to join us on Tuesday. During archery, the World Wanderers put on their bravest face and met their target head on. The bullseye had no chance against the mighty wanderers of the world. In lacrosse, the World Wanderers put on their game faces as they played steal the bacon. During pop fit kids, the World Wanderers became olympic track athletes as they participated in multiple relay races across the ginormous grass fields. The World Wanderers joyfully jumped into our next activity, swim. From volleyball to camper swim races, the World Wanderers had a splashing time in the pool. This week was one full of unforgettable memories and World Wanderers cannot wait to embark on many, many more. Week 3, here we come!

Group 17 Blog, Week 1B

The Courageous Cruisers blasted into the second week with overwhelming energy and excitement. The group started out the week with laughs and giggles at Improv, where the campers and counselors could act out practically anything they could think of! On Tuesday, the camp week got even better, even though it seemed like it was the hottest day of the year. The group favorite activity was definitely Zumba, with the campers and counselors getting down and doing some crazy dances and stretches! One day, there was a storm, but that didn’t stop the entire group from having fun! The campers ran through the sprinklers and got to sing cheers in the shelter, and by the end of the day, despite swim’s being canceled, it seemed just a great a day as any. We all came back on Thursday and told stories about what amazing times we had with friends and family on the 4th of July, and jumped right into high-gear with the day starting out doing the zip line! Later, campers — for an exciting first time — got to swim with their instructional swim groups. The second week felt even more action-packed than the first, and we can’t wait for more fun activities and adventures to come!

Group 15 Blog, Week 1B

The Valiant Voyagers (group 15) flipped into our second week at camp at
gymnastics where we learned to jump to the stars and crawl like a
bear! We took all of that energy and excitement to improv where we created
our own crazy skits to act out to the group. While flying through
filmmaking, we turned invisible! Soon after we landed in the sandy
beaches of volleyball where we played an awesome game of newcomb just
before heading to lunch. We cheered all the way to Mets field before
docking at the cool waters of the pool. Tuesday we started off at
outdoor ceramics where we made heart bowls that we decorated with our
own beautiful individual designs. We soared down to basketball where
we practiced our dribbling skills and ran some drills. We sang our way
over to cooking where we decorated sugar cookies in red, white, and
blue sprinkles in honor of the 4th of July! We made a pit stop at
pioneering before making our way back to the shelter for lunch. We
jammed out with Nelson and his instruments singing can’t stop the
feeling, count on me, and despacito until it was time to take off to
our final destination for the day, the pool. Unfortunately, thunder
stopped us from getting into the pool, but it didn’t stop us from
splashing in the sprinklers with all of our friends from the entire
unit! Wednesday was the 4th of July where we hope all campers had  a
relaxing day off and enjoyed the fireworks! It was like group 15 had
time traveled when we also began Thursday with ceramics where campers
made everything from sea turtles to flying turtles! Each camper flew
to their own destination for hobby hour and came back with incredible
stories about what they had done. We came back together as a group to
learn new skills in lacrosse before it was time for a delicious lunch.
Kickball was a blast as we raced around the bases kicking home runs!
As we started to get closer to the end of our day, we played with a
beach ball in the refreshing water of the pool until we had our first
instructional swim period of the summer! We can’t wait for another
week of having fun and eating popsicles and hope all of our amazing
campers and their families have a wonderful weekend!

Group 13 Blog, Week 1B

Group 13 had an amazing time this week! We started off the week with archery, where we showed our skills with a bow and arrow. We had a early Fourth of July celebration in cooking and made red white and blue sugar cookies; they were delicious! Later we relaxed with some wonderful yoga and batted hard at baseball! Sure, it rained. But that can hardly be said to have stopped us! We had a great time running around in the sprinklers and we cheered the LOUDEST even with thunder and lightning in the background! Jumping to gymnastics we had a blast, we got to hobby hour and did activities like basketball, gardening, and ceramics. We then went to kickball and it was so much fun to kick around and play games with our group. But let’s not forget one of the best parts of camp: THE POOL. We splished and splashed and played with beach balls. It’s was refreshing and so much fun! We can’t wait for the weeks to come!

Love, group 13

Group 15 Blog, Week 1

This week group 15, the “Valiant Voyagers,” traveled around camp to some awesome activities! We started our week off with gardening, where we learned about plants and vegetables like celery and onions. Then we flew around on the flying squirrel and had a blast! Charles and Max went super high and Leila was able to face her fear of heights and get on as well; she ended up having so much fun! Next we made our way to painting and drawing after lunch and made drawings of what’s above and below ground. We drew roots, trees, and lava! We had campers like Lydea who were great at helping clean up every time we were at our table. Throughout the week we splashed around in the pool. Aiden, Madeline, and Nora played with beach balls and were thrilled by the refreshing water at the end of each hot day. At soccer, Syler, Jacob, and Eric played hard and scored impressive goals and even made stupendous saves. Sienna and Adam helped demonstrate at Circus arts; Adam did great on the Chinese yo-yo; and Sienna balanced a spinning plate on a stick with one foot up! Later at archery, our very own Isabella scored a bullseye! Zumba was a blast and Allison impressed us all with her great moves. At nature, Maya helped find a lot of bugs and seeds! We had a great time this week at Camp Yomi and we cannot wait until next week!

Group 16 Blog, Week 1

The first week of camp was a load of fun for Group 16, the “Superstar Sailors”! Getting into the swing of things and getting to know each other was easy-peasy for superstars like us. First, we ran our way over to soccer where we played our hearts out in a competitive match; which ended in two swift goals from the red jersey team. Next up, we sat down to enjoy a delicious shabbat feast of grape juice and challah while listening to songs performed on stage. Shortly thereafter, we hopped and bopped our way over to pop fit kids, where we mastered red light green light one two three and fit fit run (duck duck goose). After lunch we dribbled our way over to basketball, and made buckets with coach Dion; plus, we picked up a few tips and tricks along the way. Finally, to top off a hot day, we jumped into the pool with a big refreshing splash, where we played all sorts of games with the counselors while taking our swim tests to find out what bracelet color we were. Sadly, week one is over, but we can’t wait to return well-rested and ready for all the excitement in week two!

Group 14 Blog, Week 1

The Extraordinary Explorers launched into the first week of camp with enormous enthusiasm. The first day was fun packed with lots of games, including many that helped us get to know all of Group 14s awesome new friends! One of them was the fun name game where all of the campers did a dance and said their names, but it was also challenging because you not only had to repeat and remember all the names of every camper in the group! This fun game, with just a touch of difficulty, made sure that counselors and kids alike learned each other’s names in no time. Next, we had a fun first couple of activates, Nature and Improv. At Nature we learned about all the cool maple trees and mushrooms and other parts of nature on our beautiful campgrounds. As the kids marveled at the trees above, you would have thought they were under a spell. Later, we had a delicious lunch of chicken fries and string beans. And at the end of the day, we went swimming everyone was tested and everyone also had a fun time with the pool beach balls. Later that week we enjoyed even more activities and, although there was rain, it didn’t stand a chance against the fun we were having! The Extraordinary Explores had an amazing first week and can’t wait for those to come!

Group 12 Blog, Week 1

The Silly Sightseers had a super first week of camp! Our days were filled with fun and teamwork! Starting on wondrous Wednesday, the Silly Sightseers had a chance to show off their bold baseball skills! Later, coding was a fantastically fun way for the campers to use their insightful brains to crack the clues of the Minecraft game. At our nature activity, the campers successfully studied the different kinds of trees that live with us on our campgrounds! Shortly thereafter, Thursday rolled around during which the campers got to explore the symbolic, meaningful messages locked away in art in Arts & Crafts. They also got a chance to draw their very own self-portraits, and the counselors marveled at the diversity of artistic choices they made. Later at Archery, they were taught how to successfully shoot a bow and arrow! All of the days ended with a splash, as campers eagerly rushed over to swim, where campers and counselors alike played games fun water games! The Silly Sighters can’t wait to see what next week has in store!

Group 20 Blog, Week 1

The Greatest Globetrotters hopped into the first week of camp with enthusiasm as we started off with ice breakers and improv! We slowly got to know everyone’s names and lively personalities just as the sun slowly but surely came out to surprise us towards the end of the week! As the sun came out, we all had a blast splashing around in the pool and skipping happily to and from each activity! Luckily, we were able to relax and show off each of our quirky asanas at yoga. Afterwards, we were able to showcase our awesome artistic skills at arts and crafts and create spectacular self portraits! Also, we were able to end our successful week as we cheered our cheeriest cheer while we went to pioneer, and went googoo for a game of gaga in the sand! We squeezed in some time before the end of the day to test our growing photography skills as we snapped photos of the garden. Lastly, we played our hearts out in basketball and swam like beautiful fishes in the refreshing pool as our Friday came to an end. Not to mention we earned ourselves group of the week! Go group 20! We are all overjoyed by a fantastic first week and cannot wait to start off the next one with even more enthusiasm!

Group 21 Blog, Week 1

Wow, what an incredible beginning to the “Terrific Travelers’” journey through Camp Yomi! On Wednesday, we started the day off with super silly stretches in Yomi Yoga! Next we went full ninja mode in the fantastic Rope course. After that, we created cool collages in awesome Arts and Crafts. When we were done, the terrific travelers took a terrific journey to the field and played Mr. Fox, with tons of close, exciting rounds. After we were done in the field, the Terrific Travelers trail blazed to the coding center where we solved super serious, tricky puzzles. At the end of the day the Terrific Travelers traveled to the pool and splish splashed in the super cool water! Thursday, we took charge in the the kitchen and made crunchy, yummy apple nachos. When we were done with our tasty treats, we journeyed over to the zapping zip-line and zipped over all of our camp Yomi friends. On Friday, the Terrific Travelers took a terrific trip to the field and got sweaty with some super fun soccer. After that, we got groovy with our dances moves at Zumba. When our daytime dances came to an end , we did the moonwalk over to jewelry making and made some dazzling USA-bracelets. Then, as usual, we concluded the day with two back-to-back periods in the pool. So sure, the weekends’ cool, but camp Yomi is awesome. And that’s why we can’t wait to do it all again, next week.

Group 19 Blog, Week 1

In our first week of camp, Group 19, the “World Wanderers,” waltzed right into Wednesday, or, to be more precise, pioneering, where we learned how to work as a team to solve tricky puzzles. Afterwards, we bounced over to baseball and coach showed us how to hold, swing, and release a bat just right. Not to mention how to make a crazy dash to first base! We all played like superstars during soccer and learned a ton about robots in lego robotics; we also learned about coding during Lego robotics. On Thursday the kids had a blast — a messy one at that — making little buckets during ceramics. Later, during swim, the kids laughed and yelled with excitement as we passed around a big bouncy ball. On Friday we all did our best Michael Jordan impression during basketball and drew like Picasso during painting and drawing. Naturally, when Shabbat came around, and the music began, “The World Wanderers” were among the first to jump up and dance. We all left camp on Friday with anticipation for next week, and we just can’t wait to see each other again.

Group 17 Blog, Week 1

The Courageous Cruisers zoomed right into the first week! We started the week off with one of our favorites, Ceramics! There, we made some awesome 4th of July pots that we painted in red and blue! It really got us excited to see the fireworks on 4th of July! We also started the week geared up to play Tennis with the super cool coach, Mango! We learned to correctly hit the ball over the net with intense accuracy and even beat some of our counselors in a game! It rained hard this week, but that only pushed the counselors to get more creative with our activities! We cooked some deliciously amazing s’more nachos with bananas, Marshmellows, chocolate, and granola! On Friday we had Shabbat, where we enjoyed some tasty challah and grape juice. Then, together, we danced to the songs of the Shabbatoons! When it wasn’t raining, the sun was beaming. And so, since our frequent water breaks just weren’t enough, we topped off each day with a well-deserved swim! It felt so refreshing to walk into the pool and swim like dolphins! Courageous Cruisers had an amazing time this week at camp and can’t wait for the next one!

Group 18 Blog, Week 1

As Group 18, “The Frequent Flyers,” know better than anyone, time flies when you’re having fun. Which is why our first week passed in the blink of an eye! We started our summer by taking a short trip from the unit to yoga, where the kids learned tons of new poses and exercises. The campers then blasted off to soccer, where they showed off their super soccer moves. Even though it started to rain, nothing was going to stop us from giving the activities our all. In Photography, we split up in groups and went on a picture scavenger hunt. We learned how to pull weeds at gardening and topped the day off with swim! There, we played Red light green light, water-style, and the kids had blast. At archery, every camper cheered along for their friends and their counselors as loud as they could. Next, a game of Gaga with all the campers and counselors got the energy for the group higher than ever. Finally, we tight-roped our way over to circus arts — the specialist of which was hilarious — and, of course, on our way to each activity, we sang our favorite cheer, “Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.” This is only the beginning of what will be an amazing camp experience this summer at Camp Yomi!

Group 13 Blog, Week 1

After a thrilling parent night on Thursday, group 13, The Jazzy Jetsetters, reunited on Wednesday and the excitement hasn’t stopped since.  We leapt right into a friendly, yet competitive game of soccer. The amount of sportsmanship, and energy was amazing to see in the first hours of camp. The Jazzy Jetsetters then cooled off and relaxed in Yoga and got to know each other by sharing their favorite yoga poses. Returning and new campers quickly became part of The Jazzy Jetsetters and Unit 2 family at Camp Yomi. Group 13 was able to bring all their energy and excitement to a thrilling game of baseball! The counselors couldn’t be prouder of this group because regardless of the skill level of each camper, The Jazzy Jetsetters never stopped supporting and motivating each other to succeed in hitting some really great home runs! After this really great game, the group got to cool off in the pool and get to know each other in a fun game of water tag as well as Marco Polo! On Thursday, group 13 bonded even more through name games as well as a game of Red Light Green Light and What Time is it Mr. Fox? The Jazzy Jetsetters then went to art and created imaginary underground scenes. We then got into a action-packed, surprising game of kickball where the campers beat the counselors by 10 points! It was incredible! We’ve never seen group 13 be more of a team! Friday, The Jazzy Jetsetters got to show off their jazzy dance moves and spirit at Shabbat! We are so sad week one came to a close, but we hope everyone has an amazing weekend and we’ll see you on Monday for an exciting and spirited second week!

Unit 2 Welcome Message 2018

Welcome Unit Two Friends & Families!

My name is Sarah Caro and I am thrilled to return as the Unit 2 supervisor for Summer 2018!  I have been a part of the Camp Yomi family since 2010 and my FAVORITE camp activities are Zipline & Ceramics!

I cannot wait to meet all of you and spend our summer together!  When I’m not at camp, I teach 8th grade English and Special Education in the Bronx throughout the year.  This is my fourth year teaching! In my personal time, I love to watch movies, play with my 3 AMAZING dogs, and indulge in creative projects.  I am also an avid traveller and have been to 12 different countries, hoping to go to many more. (Hint!) I most recently went to volunteer teach in India.

This year Unit 2’s theme is… (drumroll please)

Passport to Unit 2…. World Travelers!!!

But I’m sure you already guessed that! This summer will be filled with passport stamps, cultural explorations, and we will definitely travel the world from the comfort of camp this summer!  We’ve got a ton of adventures planned and I cannot wait for you to join our Unit 2 family!

Dates to remember:
New Family Picnic
– June 10th
Unit 2 Parent Night –
@92Y – June 21st; @Camp – July 17th
Late Night 1 – July 24th
Late Night 2 – August 9th

Bon Voyage & See You Soon,

Sarah Caro
