It is now the second to last week of camp and the Jolly Jellyfish couldn’t be having more fun! This week started out with a very hot Monday, but our group still had fun during our numerous activities which included a fantastic game of basketball! On Tuesday, The Jolly Jellyfish truly expressed their inner artist by making awesome snowmen during outdoor ceramics. Group 6 took on this week by streamlining through all of their instructional swim and free swim activities. We then had an appetizing experience during our gardening class in which each camper got the opportunity to taste the delicious fresh vegetables and herbs grown in our own garden. On Wednesday morning the sun was out and about for Wacky Wednesday! The theme for this Wacky Wednesday was “Safari Carnaval,” in which our whole unit dressed up as tourists and more! Our campers enjoyed many activities all centered around the theme and particularly enjoyed the bouncy house dance party where they each got a chance to dance out all their energy and show their favorite moves to their friends. In the afternoon, Group 6 enjoyed a lovely class of improv where they got the opportunity to demonstrate their theatrical skills and learn new things. We finished up our week with some awesome dance moves in Zumba where campers danced out all their spirit and energy while playing a FREEZE-tastic game of freeze dance! And we can’t forget The mini zip line where the Jolly Jellyfish zipped through the campgrounds and had an amazing experience. As exciting as our week was, the Jolly Jellyfish can’t wait to swim into next week’s activities, which will hold even more fun! We all hope you enjoy your weekend, and tune in next week for more on our exciting camp experience!

Wednesday came to an end with an epic reading of “Wacky Wednesday” by Dr. Seuss. On Thursday we took pictures of each other, nature, and ourselves. Then we tried to balance feathers on our palms at circus arts. We finished Thursday by practicing our Yomi idol dance and getting ready for next week! Friday was Israel Day. We sang songs and danced at Shabbat, we had humus and Israeli salad for lunch and then had a blast with our whole unit doing the Israeli activities. We already can’t wait to see you next week!
Have you ever wondered what it is like to ride a bus to camp? You should ask one of the buses that recently won bus of the week. Bus of the week can be earned for many different reasons, some of which include: being spirited, being organized, having fun, being friendly, and inclusive. Our “spies” ride the buses each week looking out for all of these different things. On Fridays at dismissal it is tradition that Yomi Bear appears at camp and helps announce the bus of the week winners. If your camper’s bus wins Bus of the Week, make sure to congratulate them – it’s a big deal in our world!
Once again, the Jolly Jellyfish have had another amazing week at camp! We started the week zooming in the wind at our first activity of the week which was Flying Squirrel ! On Tuesday we started dribbling around the basketball court showing off our amazing skills. Wacky Wednesday came along and the Jolly Jellyfish were rocking the color red to represent Unit 1!!! After making our own ice-cream at cooking, we headed to the Wacky Wednesday activities. This Wacky Wednesday was Carnival Day! Campers bounced in the bouncy house like there was no tomorrow! We even ate some cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn. We ended our day with carnival games and won prizes! On Thursday the Jolly Jellyfish played around with the green screen at Filmmaking and learned how to make themselves invisible on the big screen! Finally, we ended our week with outdoor ceramics and another amazing celebration at Shabbat! Week 3 of camp was yet another success! The Jolly Jellyfish had a rocking week filled with cheers, laughter and lots of fun!

Activities at Camp
Our beautiful campgrounds have over 50 acres of grass, courts, and fields to play on. With over 12 active activities, our campers are sure to get in the game! Our sports activities are coached by professional sports organizations and instructors such as; The Baseball Center, Tennis Innovators, and Super Soccer Stars.
This week, Fly Yoga instructors coached campers on how to create stories using only body movements. Campers dribbled down the court at basketball, learning special reasoning on the court.
Unit 3 and 4 campers have the option of joining the weekly Sports Club activity for even more sports in their schedule. During Sports Club, campers enhance their skills, receive extra practice time and specialized instruction.
Counselor of the Week
Every week we choose an extraordinary staff member(s) from each unit who exemplifies all five of our camps’ core values. We look for someone who is compassionate, mindful, courageous, a leader, and most importantly an overall mensch! These individuals go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure smiling, laughter, and safe summer fun! These handful of super counselors get the esteemed honor of being Counselor of the Week.
For their second week of camp the Jolly Jellyfish did even more new activities! We started off the week with basketball where we learned the fundamentals of passing and dribbling. With our skills sharpened, we can’t wait to play again next week. On Tuesday the Jolly Jellyfish had their very first arts and crafts session. Using oil pastels we drew scenery of nature and everyone had so many great ideas! From pigeons to trees to birds, there was so much to draw and endless possibilities! July 4th made us miss one day of camp but gave us so many stories to share on Thursday. Many of us celebrated with family and watched the fireworks live! On Thursday, we took so many cool and silly photos during our scavenger hunt in Photography. Using digital cameras we captured birds eye and worm’s eye views of our friends, trees, buildings, and sneakily captured some counselors off guard! Our Thursday was jam packed as we had our very first Late Night and got to have an extra free swim that was arguably the most fun so far. We also got to make oceans and play undersea baseball! On Friday, we got to celebrate Shabbat with the entire camp! We had so much fun this week and we’re looking forward to the next one!
Hey All You Yomi Fans!

What a wonderful first few days of camp the Jolly Jellyfish had! On Wednesday, we played soccer with our new camp friends and even got to score against the counselors! During gymnastics we jumped on a trampoline and in yoga, we did silly poses with our partners. On Thursday, we made self portraits and added something unique to them. Some of us added our parents, friends, and even pets in our portraits! Next, we took our baseball skills to the field and played a great game. Then we left our bats and gloves behind and started to learn about the different leaves and trees on our very own camp grounds! We even saw mushrooms growing right near our shelter! On Friday, we got to visit the garden and dance will all of Unit 1 at Shabbat. Above all, we can all agree that swimming is the best part of the day. From racing from one end of the pool to the other, going underwater and practicing our swim skills with the life guards, it’s always a fun time! We can’t wait for more fun activities and cheers for next week.
