On Thursday, we made beautiful necklaces and bracelets at Jewelry Making and laughed so hard at Circus Arts. On Friday, we sang and danced at Shabbat and played a fun game of Kickball. The Astro Aliens started off the week strong by learning new skills on the bars in Gymnastics! Tuesday was full of sports and fun, and even included a counselor vs camper game of soccer…and the campers won! We cooled off in photography decorating frames the beautiful photos that we had taken. Wednesday was the day we had all been waiting for…Yomi Idol! Group 3 had a blast dressing up as the toys from Toy Story and dancing along to You’ve Got a Friend in Me for the whole unit! Our late night on Thursday was so special because we got to make our own tiger friends and dance in the Unit K shelter during a silent disco dance party. This helped us work up an appetite for dinner, which we thoroughly enjoyed before snuggling our tigers on the bus ride home. On Friday, our imaginations ran wild when we built our very own jungle gym in Imagination Playground. Shabbat was a great way to relax after this very busy week and we can’t wait to see what next week brings!
Bus Of The Week
Have you ever wondered what it is like to ride a bus to camp? You should ask one of the buses that recently won bus of the week. Bus of the week can be earned for many different reasons, some of which include: being spirited, being organized, having fun, being friendly, and inclusive. Our “spies” ride the buses each week looking out for all of these different things. On Fridays at dismissal it is tradition that Yomi Bear appears at camp and helps announce the bus of the week winners. If your camper’s bus wins Bus of the Week, make sure to congratulate them – it’s a big deal in our world!

“Actives” at Camp:
Our beautiful campgrounds have over 50 acres of grass, courts, and fields to play on. With over 12 active activities, our campers are sure to get in the game! Our sports activities are coached by professional sports organizations and instructors such as; The Baseball Center, Tennis Innovators, and Super Soccer Stars.
This week, Fly Yoga instructors coached campers on how to create stories using only body movements. Campers dribbled down the court at basketball, learning special reasoning on the court.
Unit 3 and 4 campers have the option of joining the weekly Sports Club activity for even more sports in their schedule. During Sports Club, campers enhance their skills, receive extra practice time and specialized instruction.
Counselor of the Week
Every week we choose an extraordinary staff member(s) from each unit who exemplifies all five of our camps’ core values. We look for someone who is compassionate, mindful, courageous, a leader, and most importantly an overall mensch! These individuals go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure smiling, laughter, and safe summer fun! These handful of super counselors get the esteemed honor of being Counselor of the Week.
